Varadero is pretty much a tourist town, but it has a great local market and lots of colorful buildings, not to mention the fact that you can see the beach from the main street. We walked or took cabs into town to wander the markets, and check out the restaurants, and we rented scooters to tour around. We also returned to our favorite restaurant, El Rancho, 3 times for the amazing Lobster Grille and Mariscada!
