Varadero - March/April 2004 - Havana Tour

We took a bus tour to Havana, the capital city of Cuba. It was a 2 hour drive, so along the way we stopped at another resort to stretch our legs and have refreshments. The wild vegetation around the river across the road was fantastic, and there were wild chickens wandering around the resort! Once we got to Havana we stopped at many of the cultural landmarks including:

• El Capitolio (National Capital Building), where Nathan was politely asked at gunpoint by the guards not to sit on the side of the steps... :)
• Plaza de la Revolucion (Revolution Square) where we saw the José Martí memorial and the Ministry of the Interior building that has Che Guevara's image with the slogan 'Hasta la Victoria Siempre' (Forever Onwards Towards Victory)
